LGBT Law

I am deeply committed to pursuing justice for those in the LGBT community. As a married gay man myself, I empathize with those in our community who experience hardship and injustice merely because of their sexual orientation or gender identity, including those allies who stand up for sexual justice.

Actively Involved in the Community

I firmly believe that prevention is the best medicine. To that end, I often give employee training and other presentations to local for-profit, non-profit, and governmental organizations on various topics that affect the LGBT community. I also teach an honors seminar course at Western Washington University  in LGBT Civil Rights and Religious Freedom.

I take this passion with me into my practice of law, where I represent individuals in the LGBT community in employment discrimination and health insurance claims. I routinely keep up to date with local, national, and global events and legal developments that affect the LGBT community. Through my volunteering with Whatcom PFLAG and engagement with the local LGBT community, I can provide information on resources for those in need of help beyond any legal problems.
