Employment Law
When we lose our employment or are denied payment of wages, we can lose so much more in life. When an employer faces issues with employees, that entrepreneur can lose their livelihood as well. I love helping employees win compensation to regain that financial and psychological foothold lost from unscrupulous employers. But I feel it is equally important to help employers run a lawful and ethical business to prevent employment disputes before they start, so that everyone wins.

Helping Employees and Employers Alike
I have represented dozens of employees who have lost their jobs due to discrimination, retaliation, and harassment. I know how to fight with compassion and aggression to win the compensation you deserve.
We have so many employment laws in this country that, at times, it can be hard for employers to keep up. That is why I also represent and counsel employers so they can better adhere to employment regulations in the future. Prevention is always the best policy. To help prevent employment lawsuits from beginning in the first place, I regularly teach a seminar series in employment law for employers at Whatcom Community College. No one wants to end up in litigation, and I believe education is the key to avoiding costly and stressful legal action. I practice in the following areas:
- Harassment
- Discrimination
- Retaliation
- Wrongful Discharge
- Wage and Hour
- Human Resources Consulting
- Handbook Drafting
- Non-Compete and Non-Solicitation Contracts and Disputes
- Severance Agreements
- Harassment and Discrimination Investigations
